No Peace, No Freedom

I see the star up on high,
In its place in the sky.
I see the fish roam free in the sea.
I see the mountain standing proud,
With its head in the clouds;
And I wonder why I can't be free.

When in calm reverie,
When alone by the sea,
I see beyond that which I know.
Still, I cannot understand,
Man's vile contempt for man;
And I wonder why God blessed man so.

I see the bright morning sun,
As it frees the early dawn.
I see the clover unchained in the lea.
And stand burning inside,
For on this river's side,
There's no peace, no freedom for me.
